The program is designed with both safety and enjoyment in mind. This non-contact league incorporates a 3-minute buzzer system (Peewee and above will “Change on the Fly”) encouraging equitable ice time for all participants. In fact, Civitan League Rules mandate that each Participant receive a minimum of 5 shifts and no player can more than 3 more shifts than any other player.

In the younger age groups, lines are matched so that the participant competes against those of equal levels of play. Games for most categories are on Saturdays (at rotating start times) and are 45-minutes in duration. The Older Age groups will play on either Wednesday or Thursday evenings (at either 7 or 8pm). Practices for each team will be determined closer to the commencement of the Season (again, rotating times). In all cases, a complete Season Schedule is provided for reference.

Each Participant receives a Team & Individual Photograph as well a Trophy regardless of position at the end of the Season. Jerseys and Socks are also provided for the participant to keep. All games adhere to HOCKEY CANADA Rules and Regulations and full equipment is mandatory. Referees are graduates of the Hockey Program and are fully certified by Hockey Canada.

The Season consists of a minimum of 22 Games and 10 Practices (excluding the Midget group) and commences after Thanksgiving and ends on Championship Day (April 1). Admission is free of charge for both Spectators and Participants alike (with the exception of Championship Weekend when a $2 Gate Fee applies to Spectators. There will be no games scheduled over the Christmas Holidays.

Conveners are on duty for all games to ensure fair play. All those involved in the Governance of the Program are Volunteers furthermore, all Staff & Coaches are screened by the Metropolitan Toronto Police for previous history that may be detrimental to the safety and development of the participant.
